July 11 - 13 Annual Laceyville Community Days
Starting at 1 PM on Main Street. For the kids: baby parade, pedal tractor pulls, turtle race & free horse & buggy rides. For the adults: karaoke, chicken barbecue, live music by Northern Harmony, a river float to Laceyville and lots of good food to eat and games to play! Laceyville is participating in "THE GREAT PA CLEANUP" again this year. The date of cleanup is Saturday, April 25th from 9:00 to 4:00. We will be picking up trash and debris from all town streets and also along route 6 from east of town to the west. We are looking for any volunteers to help with picking up garbage, and also sponsors (for refreshments, monetary, etc) This is a great event and such a worthy cause. Last year we rid ourselves of a great amount of garbage along with tires and batteries and other harmful items. Please call Rich & Karen at 869-1826 or send an email to richen@emcs.net . Help Meshoppen Area Singer/Songwriter with Scholarships for Blind Students Acceptance into a college-level performing arts program is a major achievement for anyone. Blind musicians face even tougher obstacles. The nonprofit Performing Arts Division of the National Federation of the Blind (PAD, NFB) celebrates the accomplishments of outstanding blind students with the Mary Anne Parks Performing Arts Scholarship, awarded at PAD’s annual July convention. PAD also provides subsidies, mentoring and peer support. Singer/songwriter & recording artist Donna Hill (Meshoppen), blind from Retinitis Pigmentosa, volunteers to raise awareness about PAD. Help creative blind Americans become independent, productive citizens. Give a tax-deductible contribution. Or, purchase the “Sound in Sight” CD, a multi-genre compilation of original songs & covers donated by blind recording artists, including Donna’s “The Edge of the Line.”
